FM 17-20 Recon Platoon and Company (May 1942), is a well illustrated manual which clearly explains the battle tactics of U.S.Army World War Two armored reconnaissance units in a series of detailed do’s and don’t examples. A very basic common sense book. Designed to explain the basics for armored reconnaissance operations to newly inducted soldiers who were completely ignorant of battlefield conditions. Many of the lessons of this book are even still good today.
